Memphis summers don’t ease into the day. By mid-morning on a Saturday, the bench area at Sea Isle Dog Park was already too hot to sit on comfortably — which meant most people weren’t sitting on it. Dogs were running, owners were watching from the fence or heading back to their cars, and the seating that was supposed to make the park more usable was going unused.

The Sea Isle Park Neighborhood Association wanted to fix that, so they called Parasol Awnings.

What we installed at Sea Isle is a fixed A-Frame canopy, fabricated from the ground up by our team right here in Memphis and designed to live outdoors year-round through our particular brand of weather:  the July heat indexes, the August afternoon rainstorms, and everything in between.

The canopy stretches over the bench area in Harbor Green, a commercial-grade fabric chosen for the way it holds color and sheds weather without complaint. The steel frame is the kind of structural commitment that means this canopy isn’t going anywhere. A rigid valance with closed ends gives the structure a clean, finished silhouette. Across the face of the valance, custom vinyl lettering spells out Sea Isle Dog Park.

That lettering turns a shade structure into a landmark, the thing that makes a space feel like it belongs to a neighborhood.
