When a new restaurant opens in Memphis, curb appeal matters just as much as the menu. Our team at Parasol Awnings recently completed a suspended canopy installation for Fuego Vivo, an upscale live-fire restaurant that opened in early February at 5110 Poplar Avenue in East Memphis.

A Custom Suspended Canopy System

For this installation, our team fabricated and installed suspended metal canopies with roll-form flat pan decking and 8″ extruded fascia in a bronze finish. The design complements the restaurant’s modern exterior while providing practical protection for guests and the building itself.

The canopy system was installed over the main entryway and windows, serving multiple purposes:

• Providing weather protection for guests entering the restaurant
• Creating shade over front-facing windows
• Enhancing the architectural presence and curb appeal
• Adding a durable long-term metal awning solution

To ensure proper water management, the system also includes integrated scupper drainage, allowing rainwater to move off the canopy efficiently.

Fuego Vivo brings a new dining concept to East Memphis from Tekila Restaurant Group, transforming the former Carrabba’s location into a vibrant destination for live-fire cooking. The restaurant features globally inspired dishes and a theatrical and elevated dining experience.

Our goal with this project was to create a canopy system that fits seamlessly into that atmosphere – clean lines, durable materials, and a design that elevates the building from the street.
